Southport Daycare, located in Edmonton, AB, is currently seeking applications for an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) position. Shifts: Day, Weekend

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Credentials: Child development worker (ECE level 2)

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
• The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
• The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
• The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
